The Pura Vida Retreat was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow knitters, gain insights into new techniques, and enjoy a short winter escape to beautiful Costa Rica. The hotel and overall location were outstanding! I wouldn’t have traveled that far for such a short period if it hadn’t been for Fruity Knitting. I look forward to future retreats – what a wonderful way to combine travel and knitting!

A long-time viewer and Patron of Fruity Knitting, I jumped at the chance to attend their Pura Vida Knitting Retreat in Costa Rica. I knew that whatever Andrea and Madeleine organized and put their names on would be of the highest quality. And it was! The combination of a stunning location, sumptuous meals, engaging learning, and a community of friendly knitters was magical. My non-knitting husband enjoyed socializing as well as hiking, and relaxing on his own. A perfect getaway.

My husband and I attended the Fruity Knitting Retreat in Costa Rica during the 4th week. It was one of our best vacations! The retreat offered a nice balance of workshops, sightseeing customized with a bird guide for those of us with particular interest in this, cooling off in the pool with a special drink, or social time to knit and visit with friends from around the world, all available at the beautiful resort with amazing food, and superb friendly service. There were plenty of opportunities to be as busy or as relaxed as you desire. My husband enjoyed his time exploring the area with other men along on the retreat and a guided outing provided by the resort when the knitters were occupied in a workshop. My husband and I look forward to future retreats and the special time with Andrea, Madeleine and other Fruity Knitting patrons from around the world!

I was elated to meet the incredible Andrea and Madeleine Doig in person. And in Costa Rica, no less! The retreat included not only Claudia Quintanilla’s embellishment ideas but also up-close sightings of sloths, white-faced monkeys, red-eyed tree frogs, iguanas, scorpions, and more. The combination of all this put me in a joyous state of wonder. If you’re thinking of joining a future retreat, bring your family. I brought my non-knitter daughter and she had a great time!
