Annemor Sundbø is a Norwegian knitter, researcher and author who has dedicated her life to unearthing the hidden stories, myths, and meanings woven into centuries of Norwegian textiles. Her extraordinary contributions to cultural history have earned her high honors, including the King’s Medal of Merit and the status of a government grant holder.
Annemor Sundbø’s life work was catalyzed by a “stroke of fate” in 1983 when she became the owner of Torridal Tweed, Norway’s last “shoddy mill”. Along with the machines, she acquired 16 tons of knitted rags destined for the shredder. But Annemor quickly realized these knitted garments were precious, representing the history of knitting in Norway.
Linda Marveng

With a background in architectural history, Linda’s designs are sleek, fashion-forward, and often richly textured with intricate cables. Her dream jobs in the yarn industry have included working as a design consultant for Rowan and at Loop, a beloved yarn shop in Islington, London. In 2012, she published the Norwegian knitting pattern book To rett en vrang Designstrikk. More recently, her designs have appeared in Pom Pom Quarterly, Interweave Knits, and The Knitter, as well as books including Wool Studio: The knit.wear Capsule Collection and Knit Like a Norwegian.
Linda is passionate about challenging knits with finishing touches that make a garment look less handmade and more intricate than it actually is to knit. She wants to share the joy and sense of accomplishment that comes from making and finishing a beautiful handknit garment. Linda lives with her English husband in an architectural drawn house with a view of a lake in Ørje, outside of Oslo.
Sidsel Høivik

Sidsel J. Høivik is a Norwegian knitwear designer, teacher and author based in Oslo. She has been knitting since the age of four, and knitting and crochet have remained her lifelong passion. Since around 1990, Sidsel has created designs for numerous knitting magazines and yarn companies in Norway and Sweden. She has also worked for many years as a handicraft journalist for Familien magazine and as a designer for Du Store Alpakka.
Sidsel is the author of three knitting books, Lekre masker og lekne sting (2013), Vakker strikk til alle årstider (2015) and Mine strikkede favoritter / My best knitted treasures (2021) all published by Gyldendal.
In recent years, Sidsel has focused increasingly on teaching and sharing her knowledge. She gives workshops and presentations at knitting festivals and events in Norway and internationally, including Fanø International Knit Festival, the Knit Festival in Rijswijk and events in the Faroe Islands. Her workshops combine traditional techniques with playful details, embroidery, crochet and colour. Sidsel loves sharing the simple tricks and creative ideas that can transform a knitted garment into something truly special.
