Included in price
- Accommodation for 5 nights at Dalen Hotel
- Transfer between Oslo central train station and the Dalen hotel on days 1 and 6 of the retreat.
- Daily breakfasts, lunches, and 3-course gourmet dinners with a complementary glass of wine.
*Breakfast and lunch on day one will not be included. - For knitters: Tea and coffee during knitting workshops
- For knitters: knitting workshops and lectures according to the schedule and an exclusive gift bag!
- Use of the Soria Moria Sauna between 4-6 pm
Non-Knitting Activities
- Boat trip along the Telemark Canal on the historic Henrik Ibsen
- Tour of the Vest-Telemark Museum Eidsborg, 12th-century Eidsborg Stave Church, and Stålekleivloftet wooden buildings
- Mill and farm tour at Telespinn
- Guided tour of the hotel arboretum
Not included
- Travel to and from Oslo Central Train Station before and after the retreat starts
- Breakfast and lunch during the Henrik Ibsen boat trip (on Day 1)
- Additional alcoholic beverages
- Additional spa treatments (outside of using the sauna between 4-6pm)
- Additional activity suggestions that are not included in the retreat schedule
Important: Mobility Issues
The workshop room and some bedrooms are on the first floor (not on the ground level). As the hotel has retained its original historic character, there is no elevator.
Some activities also require walking independently on uneven ground. Please take this into consideration if you have mobility issues.
Room Options
The rooms are decorated in a historical style, with details that have accompanied the house throughout the ages. Therefore, you will not find a TV, radio or minibar in the rooms. Instead, you can retreat and be close to what is happening in and around the house. Pictures of the rooms can be found under Norway > Accommodation on our website.
- Single room: You will have your own, private room.
- Double occupancy with another knitting participant*: If you are coming solo, you can choose to share a room with another participating knitter.
- Double occupancy with your non-knitting partner*: You can bring your non-knitting partner with you! You will share a room together and they will be able to join all non-knitting activities. The room will have a king size bed.
*Please note: The king-sized bed will have two duvets, but the mattress will not be split.
Reservation and Payment
- After registering, if a spot is available for you to join the retreat, you will receive a confirmation email with an invoice. We will never request payment unless you have officially received a spot.
Please note: The automatic email containing your registration summary is not a confirmation that you have received a spot. - A 50% deposit per person is required to confirm your reservation.
- Payment of the remaining amount must be received no later than 30 May, 2027. Full payment is required to participate in this retreat.
Cancellation
In the event you would need to cancel the retreat after you have confirmed your participation, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at info@artisan-retreats.com .
Cancellation prior to January 30, 2027: You will receive a refund for your deposit less a 250 EUR cancellation fee per person. Insurance is not included in the fees, and it is up to you to organize international coverage with your insurance carrier, if you so decide.
Cancellation on January 30 , 2027 or later: Due to financial obligations towards the hotel, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you have already paid in full, you will receive a refund minus the 50% deposit.
Full Payment is required by May 30, 2027 to secure your booking.
Cancellation after May 30, 2027: There will be no refund of payment unless we find a replacement. In that case you will receive a refund minus the 50% deposit.
We reserve the right to cancel the retreat or change the program without giving any reason. In the event that a cancellation is necessary, payments will be fully refunded. For more information, please read our Terms & Conditions.
Insurance
We recommend acquiring adequate out of country health insurance and trip cancellation & trip interruption insurance.
