Retreat Schedule
Welcome to the retreat! Today, we will be focusing on settling in and getting to know each other. We will start with a 3-course dinner at 6:30 pm, followed by some fun ‘Get to know you’ games. We will also reveal the special gift bag which includes the exclusive Pura Vida design and yarn.
It is important to plan your arrival at the airport before 3 pm so you can make the most of the retreat and not miss out on any of the excitement!
You will be picked up from Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in a private, air-conditioned
minibus, and the journey to the resort will take approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Experience the magic of an early morning swim or a leisurely walk along the Monkey Trail, where playful monkeys, serene sloths, and vibrant toucans await. Alternatively, enjoy a spirited round of mini-golf for some lighthearted fun.
Then, we start our day with a delicious buffet breakfast, which includes a wide range of sumptuous tropical fruits and hot foods.
After breakfast, the knitters among us can participate in the first workshop hosted by Claudia and assisted by Andrea, Madeleine and Hannah. In this workshop, we'll learn how to decorate our sweaters with various embroidery techniques, such as applique, ribbons, beads, and crochet details. The primary focus of this workshop is to enhance our creative decision-making skills.
Following the first workshop, we'll take a break to enjoy a leisurely lunch.
In the afternoon, there will be a second workshop for the knitters to join, where we'll delve into the world of Japanese Sashiko embroidery.
In the evening, we’ll gather for an extra special gourmet dinner. After dinner, we'll have an informal presentation and Q&A with Fruity Knitting (Andrea and Madeleine).
The day begins with an early breakfast to give us enough energy for the adventure ahead.
Today, we are heading to the Manuel Antonio National Park, one of Costa Rica's ecological gems. Our guided tour will take us along well-marked trails and pristine white sand beaches, offering us an immersive experience into the diverse flora and fauna found within the lush rainforests and mangroves.
For those who prefer a more relaxed morning, the spa is available for a bit of pampering to invigorate the mind and body, followed by soaking up some sunshine by the pool.
After lunch, the knitters will gather again for a workshop on our exclusive Pura Vida design, which uses the beautiful mosaic technique.
In the late afternoon/evening, you will have plenty of time to visit the nearby beach, take a swim, play mini-golf, or simply relax and enjoy the sounds of the jungle while working on your project before we come together for a scrumptious three-course dinner.
Today is all about taking it easy, relaxing, and enjoying things at our own pace.
After our relaxing breakfast, knitters will have the option to gather again in our beautiful private air-conditioned event room. We will start with our fourth workshop, Embroidered Scissor Holder. After this quick 30-minute workshop, knitters can choose what project they would like to continue working on from the previous workshops and receive help and support where they might be getting stuck.
In the evening, we will gather for a grand finale Gala dinner accompanied by live local music and an optional dance class in our exclusive private dining venue. We will toast to the cherished memories we have created, the new skills we’ve learned, and the special friendships we have developed.
Today is the day we say our goodbyes. After breakfast, you will be driven to San José International Airport with beautiful memories and fun stories to cherish and share!
